...and probably rather pathetic, but I feel like I did something. I know it ain't much, but it's something. I called my congressman yesterday (Republican Rob Portman, OH-2) and asked if he'd voted for or against the GOP rule requiring leaders charged with felonies to relinquish their positions. I gave my name and address and asked when they'd get back to me (a few days).
Things I didn't do...
--I forgot to get the name of the person I talked to
--When the fellow said, "I'm just answering the phones," I didn't insist on talking to someone who did more, and could find me an answer.
--I didn't ask if they could comment on his position on the idea
I don't know if they were blowing me off or not. I was so nervous about coming off as a whackjob or just babbling like an idiot.
