For my last assignment with MTV, I did a wrap-up piece with some of my favorite pictures and video clips from the year.

Thank you to everyone who I interviewed, captured and recorded!

We find politics in the every day here in Nebraska. We also find moments to break through the every day to do the impossible.

I look forward to working more with each of you as I enter a new job in Nebraska, more details on that soon!

It's rodeo season in Nebraska. Jake is a young cowboy who travels rodeo to rodeo trying to make a living and seeking a little bit of glory along the way. While politics is not the main topic of conversation for folks in the rodeo community, it definitely does come up, especially this year. Come listen to Jake and see what issues he is voting on this November while catching a glimpse of what it’s like to live on the rodeo road.

The other night I was watching MTV and a commercial came on with an old guy talking in front of a bunch of windmills. It got my attention because here in Nebraska we are on the verge of multiplying our energy sources through wind. I listened, loved the commercial and went online to read more about the "Pickens Plan."

I signed up for their email updates and within 10 minutes I didn’t just get an obligatory email of "thanks for signing up, we will be in touch." Nope, that is too old-fashioned for Mr. Pickens. Instead I got a Facebook message from one of his folks telling me more about the plan. Now, that is very new media from an old skool kind of guy. But with gas prices now at over $4, I guess anything is possible when it comes to the issue of energy this year.

Come to find out I am not the only one who has heard about the Pickens Plan and is intrigued. I told the story above to three other young people this past week and they all had the same reaction, "yeah, I saw that commercial too, totally dig what the old guy is saying and the website."

My husband Scott Kleeb is running for the United States Senate. He has a committed staff of young people who work 12 hour days, 7 days a week. So we decided to take them up to the ranch to relax, Scott on the other hand has a different way of describing the weekend. Come meet two of the Kleeb staffers John and John and listen to why Scott brought his team up to the Nebraska Sandhills.

President Bush vetoedthe Farm Bill on May 21st, 2008. Fortunately, Congress had enough votes to over ride that veto. Unfortunately, bills in Congress—including the critical Farm Bill—have lost their meaning. They are simply words on a paper for many young people.

Ranching is a way of life. While it is becoming more and more difficult to stay alive in this business, the young ranchers profiled in the video on my MTV Choose or Lose blog would have to be roped and dragged out of town in order to give up on this profession.

Each of the ranchers have a deep sense of community as well as a connection to the environment and to their cattle that is simply humbling. They remind me why ranching is the good life.

It's 12:03am on Tuesday, May 13, 2008. That means it's primary day here in Nebraska.

Usually during elections I am following the youth vote trend and reporting on the increase with my role at the Young Voter PAC or my part-time gig with MTV's Street Team.

Today, I will be in a very different role.

It's corn planting season in Nebraska. Farmers all across our state are tilling the land and planting corn. Some for food, some for fuel and some aren't planting anything at all and leaving a portion of their land as 'set aside' which means they leave it alone for wildlife and conservation efforts.

Young people across the United States this past week are getting a taste of the politicking that goes on inside campaigns. Young people, who are trying to become "pledged delegates" to the Democratic National Convention, got emails from campaigns essentially saying "thanks, but no thanks."

Campaigns are cutting people of all ages off the lists of potential delegates and the cutting is allowable under the rules, so campaigns are not doing anything unusual.

The big difference this time around is the record number of young people running as pledged delegates--and therefore a big portion of the number of people getting cut. This is obviously causing some friction between the message they hear from campaigns and the message they are getting in their inbox.
