Cam finally goes there.
So, yesterday Cam faces the media to answer questions about the upcoming Superbowl. You know, questions like "How does it feel to finally be in the big dance?" or "what will you have to do to beat the Broncos?" or any other number of questions football related.
But no, after repeatedly being questioned on why he feels he has so many detractors, he says "I think that's a trick question."
Then he finally goes there.
"I've said it since Day One, I'm an African-American quarterback. That may scare a lot of people because they haven't seen nothing that they can compare me to. Oftentimes, it's funny, I get inspired, it makes me go out there and practice even harder because I remember when I was working out for the draft and I would see the Senior Bowl playing, I see these guys out there busting their tails, trying to get drafted, trying to have a job to provide for their family or themselves and it's like, here I am, I'm doing exactly what I want to do, how I want to do it."
And with that, he broke the internet. Within minutes Bleacher Report had an article up relating his comment and the bigots came out in force. They've been waiting all season long for Cam to finally address the elephant in the room so they could pounce. The highest rated comment on that article was full of nonsense about him pretending to be the first AA QB in the league and playing the race card. BR finally pulled the plug on the comment section of that article.
Well, who could blame the bigots? I mean look at that threatening answer he gave?
Let me reflect a little bit about the Cam Newton these bigots don't want to appreciate.
Cam Newton crashes Halloween party, surprises boy battling cancer
Cam Newton turned his Friday night into an unforgettable one for a 10-year-old boy battling a rare form of cancer.
Newton made the trip north to Concord, N.C., a Charlotte suburb, to join a young boy named Elijah at a Halloween block party in his neighborhood. The party was held a month early because doctors aren’t sure Elijah will make it to Oct. 31 to celebrate his favorite holiday.

Cam Newton treats area school kids to a shopping spree at Dick's Sporting Goods
As 11-year-old Jocelyn Williams bounced around the aisles of Dick’s Sporting Goods in search of the perfect pair of sneakers, she could barely tone down the mega-watt smile plastered across her face.
“How about these pink ones?” she was asked.
Still grinning, she craned her neck upwards to address the towering six-foot-five man standing next to her.
“Yeah, those are nice,” Williams told Cam Newton.
Williams, a sixth-grade student at Collinswood Language Academy, was one of approximately 20 elementary school children in the Charlotte area invited to Newton’s “Shop With a Jock” holiday charity event.

Cam Newton visits young fan fighting brain cancer
Cam Newton is one of the few superstar athletes in any sport who isn't really on social media, and even in his current pro city—Charlotte, N.C.—he's rarely in the public eye beyond the football field.
Just before Christmas last year, he made a very public appearance at a local Dick's Sporting Goods to do some good and take kids shopping.
Of course, the most cynical of fans said he did it for the publicity. (Really, this is a thing we saw with some regularity in Facebook comments.) So to those people, I'd just ask what Cam's motivation was for what you'll read below.
Newton visited with Matthew Bailey, a seventh grader in North Carolina, who is facing brain cancer. Matt has 10 things he wants to do. His church shared that list on March 27.

See how scary Cam is? How can you blame the bigots for their feelings?
