Events that unraveled over the past 72 hours left us all stunned and speechless. This was happening in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. We were warned that people's lives would be in danger. And, sure it was. Despite early warning, 1000 people died. By the time the count is complete, it is expected that the number of dead people will be closer to 10,000. Not to mention the extreme and widespread wreckage that has been left in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.
How did this happen, we wonder? There have been numerous posts documenting the reasons.
A consensus of opinion across blogs and MSM is that the death toll could have been significantly reduced had the decision makers been responsible, efficient and humane. On the contrary, they were irresponsible, inefficient and in-humane.
