Allow me to explain my thoughts based on my personal healthcare costs and add the question, higher taxes or higher healthcare costs?
I’m retired and have both Medicare and Motion Picture Health for my healthcare. I pay whatever the government requires out of my Social Security for my Medicare and pay nothing for my Motion Picture supplement plan, which includes Silver Sneakers free gym membership.
Thank you union.
When I go to the doctor, virtually any doctor of my choice, my copay is $5 and nothing else for tests, including things like an MRI or a colonoscopy. Prescriptions are very cheap compared to many other health plans
Obviously at my age I have more visits and more prescriptions than most of the younger crowd, but my health costs, including the cost of insurance, is far less then most of you reading this post. Healthcare is so cheap its not even part of my budget.
Now I understand that over the years I’ve traded negotiating for higher wages for better benefits.
My real question is: Which is cheaper, a form of union style national health paid for with slightly higher taxes or, as we now have, paying a profit making insurance company, including all the limits we had before the ACA?
Tuesday you’re voting for either the Republican higher cost insurance company profit healthcare or the Democrat’s present ACA or something even better for your personal health and pocketbook.
