I just want to give props to what was probably a hard indie movie to get made well: Mooz-lum. Even though I've been on the movie's mailing list, I couldn't make it to see it in theaters and only just caught it free on-demand through Starz (on Charter). The only "Mooz-lum"-tagged post I've found was from before it came out, on Black Kos, Week in Review in February, emphasizing Nia Long playing the lead's mother.
If you like indie art films, this is kind of towards the ABC Family tear-jerker side of things. The new ground it breaks is the authenticity of its Muslim-in-America (going-through-9/11-at-college) voice. It's just not that easy getting any indie movie made, and this was finely executed although not artsy. I definitely wanted to give it a shout out.
