There's a great diary on the Rec list about Mitt Romney's refusal (or inability) to do basic math.
Here's the summary:
1. The rich will pay the same amount, lower rates and fewer deductions (gee, I'm sure they won't find ways to use the remaining deductions to lower their overall tax burden after he cuts their rates so they pay even lower taxes than their already absurdly low rates now).
2. "reduce tax burdens on middle-income people." And by "middle income" he means people earning $250,000. Note that he doesn't say ALL middle class people, like you and me, he just says "people," and by definition that can mean "some people." He also doesn't say middle class, he says middle income, which may also be important.
Now I think we understand the Mitt Romney Unicorn Math. He won't raise taxes on some "middle class" people who in his clown world earn around $250,000. The rest of us, well, it looks like we're going to pay for their tax cuts and the money he wants to send to the Pentagon.
