Has America crossed a symbolic Rubicon river tonight ? Or duh ... "where have you been?" is the response from others who say that this over use and zealous passion for militarization of our police has been going on all around the country since at least 9-11 ?
Even so ... I would argue that yes... we at a minimum have ripped the thin veneer off a wound that has been festering with a resurgent deadly form of racism tonight and that Ferguson, Missouri is really representative of a sickness that has spread all over the police forces of America due to a right wing extremism ushered in by the illegitimate presidency of George W. Bush.

Do we have the metaphorical version of a right wing Trojan Horse inside of our democratic party leadership ? Why, does it seem sometimes that some of our highest democratic officials are doing contradictory things in really backing up their words with actions as it pertains to following the principles we hold dear in the democratic party ?

"Dark Money", Black Mail, Stockholm Syndrome ? Or all of the above ? All I know is that with democratic leaders like some of these D.I.N.O.s who needs right wing extremists ?

Hello all. I as a resident of Phoenix have often wondered why, (in addition to Gerrymandering and me not getting off my duff as a democrat to help enough) the republicans here in Arizona and particularly in the Phoenix Metro area are keeping us..."just this side of Ghengis Khan?" Well, yes...I did mention Gerrymandering, apathy on my part and also forgot to mention large retirement communities where only senior citizens are allowed to live but...there is another factor and that is the large mega-churches and the very right wing Arizona Republic (which pretends to be moderate) and which is owned by Gannett, need I say more ?
Well...yes. If anyone here takes the time to catalogue our (Phoenix Metro Churches by their size and their leadership, I believe one could pretty much see how the "poor sheep" that follow and believe every word of a powerful preacher could be predicted to vote republican. Now...that's just a tiny little idea (mine) of why we have embarrasements like Jan Brewer and S.B. 1062 but...hey...I know there's alot more..what's your take ?

There was a so called riot in Tucson last night that might have been inflamed by the actions of the Tucson police force. The students and others were rioting over the fact that the UofA basketball team got beaten by Wisconsin and therefore kicked out of the "Sweet Sixteen".

I know that what happened in Tucson is not the most important thing that's happened in the world lately...but....I feel that this could be a teaching moment to those who feel our police force in America has become to militarized. Maybe...just maybe...we ask all of those college adult students and non college people to think about why the police are allowed to do what they do within our country and its government ? And...will this as a lesson to open their eyes to all of the injustice/racism/poverty/cruelty that is so prevalent in this world .

I am torn on this in that... I wish those who were out in the streets yesterday protesting over a basketball game were with us (apologies to those who have been with us in the past non-violently protesting) in the past trying to change the institutionalized racism in our public school system and a whole litany of other things/causes but...they...fall into the hands of the astro-turfed corporate/Koch opiate of the masses (sports).

Please....help us to stop a vote for $300,000,000 for a Fracking refinery by the City of Phoenix and mayor for North Dakota !

Time is of the essence, please...let them know in a friendly manner that to vote for this huge sum of money is not only financially risky but...immoral because it is a crime against to humanity to poison the water of another state so that children and adults will become sick from it !

I support the Veterans For Peace right to march in the Veterans Day Parade in Phoenix this upcoming week !

I support VFP's right to march in the parade. I do believe Mayor Stanton and the city of Phoenix are being let off of the hook to easy here.
The journalist Montini for the Az. Republic points out in his Thursday November 7th column that it was the city of Phoenix and NOT the VA that handed off the running of the parade to this right wing group which is now excluding the VFP from marching the in the parade.

I was present when three friends from VFP personally addressed mayor Stanton to allow the VFP to march in the parade. Mayor Stanton, is just passing the buck by saying in the journalist Montini's column that he supports the VFP marching in the parade but that there is nothing he can do about it....BALONEY !!! . As Montini suggested he could refuse to appear as a guest of honor in the parade in support of veterans who served and sacrificed for our country and now emphasize PEACE.

Once my 3 friends presented their request at the city council meeting almost two weeks ago they were viciously attacked publicly by another right wing young man who appeared to be with the organization running the parade who used the words "traitor" and "treason" against them. I got up and told the mayor and council that to use such untrue and vicious words against my fellow veterans was wrong.

Hello brothers and sisters...Once again, the very politicians who claim to be progressive and strong supporters of public school students and our public schools...put a knife in their backs today here in Phx. Az. ! The Phoenix City Council voted unanimously to approve the issue of $73,250,000 by what is known as the Phoenix Industrial Development Authority to private corporate charter schools ! We need to stop letting the very politicians who ask public school students, parents and teachers to knock on doors for them to stop mis-leading and betraying us when they say they strongly support our public schools !
