This diary concerns an interesting article published at Counterpunch that starts out as anecdotes of Hunter S. Thompson, which are always fascinating, but then it jumps to something even more interesting. An exchange between Timothy Leary and G. Gordon Liddy while they were traveling the country debating each other. It is worth a read. I include one paragraph from the exchange that while I think it is true but will likely anger many of you. Before you pass judgement, read the second sentence as it is a qualification of the first. And there is a pay off if you keep reading until the end.
It is amazing that Leary's words spoken years ago can be so true today. He predicted addiction to computers at a time when people felt it ludicrous that one day every home would have a computer for personal use, let alone entertainment. His comments about the Democrats and the Republicans are accurate even today.
