Writing diaries on Kos and interacting with Kossacks has been an overwhelmingly positive experience. Seeing the power of the people harnessed by Kos gives me great hope the internet will play a significant role in people powered democracy.
But I'm concerned. There are issues, real issues that are at the core of the problem and should not be swept under the rug. Here are a few of the things that disturb me that don't get the attention outrage they deserve or are brushed aside.
- Pre-911 accountability
Questions are not conspiracy theories
- Voting fraud
A full on assault on voting. "Everyone is doing it" does not make it ok
- War in Iraq
Why are we there again?
Note to talking democratic heads : It is not cutting off funding to the TROOPS it is cutting off funding for the WAR. Why don't the Democrats stand up and DEMAND that anyone saying otherwise backup their statement? I'm xrepublican and I'll likely become xdemocrat soon. I'll try anything :)
- War profiteering
Criminal. Period.
- The Iraqi oil scandal
Our military is being used as muscle for big oil. Where's the damn outrage? Hint:Iraq.
- Impeachment
Impeachment porn?
Starting with the 2000 election right up to the political hijacking of the judicial system, crimes have been committed. Full on, right out there in the open crimes. And no accountability. From democrats or republicans. It is all a big shell game in Washington and it is time to crack a few of those nuts.
I guess I'm a radical. And petulant. And impatient. But demanding some damn accountability in these things is not anti-American, it is as American as American can, and should, be.
