The Detroit Free Press reported this morning that legislation for a Michigan Democratic primary re-vote is being presented to Democratic and Republican leadership this weekend. After the approval from the Michigan Legislature, the ReDo will take place in June.
From The Detroit Free Press:
“It will be up to the state Legislature to decide -- by the end of next week -- whether to authorize a Democratic presidential primary do-over in Michigan in early June.”
“On Friday, key Michigan Democratic officials proposed that the state Legislature authorize a full-scale, state-run, privately funded do-over primary for early June as a way to seat the state's delegates for the Democratic National Convention.”
“The legislation already has been drafted and is expected to be shown to key lawmakers this weekend.”

Three things seem interesting.
- Clinton is all for it, Obama wants to see the proposal in writing. Both campaigns express an interest in the proposed details.
- The Do-Over has to clear the Michigan Legislature with a 60% approval. The House is comprised of 58 Democrats and 52 Republicans. The Senate, 21 Thugs and 17 Democrats.
- The City and County Clerks who will actually perform the elections have begun whining already:
“Novi City Clerk Maryanne Cornelius said voters might be confused as to why they are being asked to vote again. "We'll do it," she said. "However, I think it's really unfair to voters."
Any hope of a Michigan Democratic Do-Over depends upon the Republican Senate, a Republican House, a Republican State Supreme Court, and a Republican Secretary of State (who happens to be a McCain delegate).
And these are the guys that managed to create OUR problem in the first place.
The Michigan Republican Senators have a one dimensional theology,
vote against anything the Democrats want. We need THEIR blessing to have a Re-Do that will only help us and hurt them.
Anybody see a problem with that ?
