According to Halperin, this fringe PAC, "Our Country Deserves Better", who states it's sole polotical purpose is to defeat Brack Obama, has released a cowardly and despicable ad (thought thankfully it does not appear to be running anywhere yet). We need to get on top of this stuff right away and discredit this group and these people "Our Country Deserves Better PAC" immediately. You know the Faux News People will pick up this ad and run with it, so we need to be prepared to respond. Script and Link to video after the break...
I'm so tired of there Orwellian names like "Our Country Deserves Better". If they were true to their name, they would launch an attack against the last eight years of complete ineptitude in Washington: us citizens deserve better from our government than what Bush and his mostly Republican controlled legislator delivered. And the American people agree in overwhelming numbers if polling data is to believed. But that's Republicans for you, they pretend to be the party of accountability, then take no accountability or responsibility for their own failings. Instead, they shamelessly attack the other guy.
Here's the script (If you must watch the ad, here's the link, but I would encourage you to simply read the script because we don't want to drive the video hit count up):
Announcer: "Barack Obama seems to have different values from most Americans."
"His supporters put up Cuban flags with the murderous leftist Che Guevara in Obama’s campaign offices."
"Obama’s campaign received $33,000 in illegal donations from Palestinians living in the Middle East."
"A top official of the terrorist group Hamas endorsed Obama’s campaign."
"And who can forget these hateful sermons from Obama’s pastor of over 20 years."
Rev. Wright clip: "...Goddamn America."
Announcer: "Our Country Deserves Better PAC is responsible for the content of this ad."
Please use this diary to post more information about this group. I already discovered that this group's chairman is Howard Kaloogian, a first rate wacko who posted advertisements with false endorsements, false photographs, and doctored photographs as part of his campaign for the House in California. His MO seems to be shadiness.
EDIT: The stuff from Halperin maybe old, but Ben Smith at Politico linked it today in his news and notes. Politico has been driving many stories this cycle, so his linking might bring this back to life.
