Can't make this stuff up. Just a few months removed from the 2008 election, Rep. Adrian Smith from out in NE-03 Congressional District has a fresh faced challenger that sounds all too familiar.
Rebekah Davis of Alliance said she's filed with the Federal Election Commission to start raising money to run in Nebraska's expansive 3rd District.
The 27-year-old Davis grew up and went to high school in Alliance. She got her undergraduate degree at Indiana University, and her master's of divinity at Yale University, graduating in 2006.
She moved back to Nebraska at the end of last year after working as an embassy liaison in Washington, D.C., for Travel Document Express.
She speaks French, Portuguese and Farsi.
She sounds an awful lot like Scott Kleeb in 2005 doesn't she? Yale grad from Western Nebraska who no one has ever heard of running against Adrian Smith. This is really odd.
She's already got a website -- not much to it to be honest -- and an ActBlue page so she's obviously semi-connected to the world of politics. I'm going to try and get in contact with Ms. Davis in the next few days and see what she's about.
