Now that we have built up a big head of Recall steam, there are several things to keep in mind:
* Citizens United
* Inoculate
* Challenge Every Recallable Seat
* Counter Voter Suppression - GOTV
* Local Community Presence
* Vote your Pocketbook!
* Courtesy of Citizens United, corporate and conservative groups can spend without limit. Experience has shown that the advertising has been effective - it elected the current majority. We can't match their dollars, but we can focus on our strengths. We have many people in every community
* Since we can't match them ad-for-ad, we must inoculate voters, by explaining how conservative ads work, and preparing the voters for the onslaught. The best approach is to turn negatives into positives - use their own expensive campaigns against them.
* Challenge Every Recallable Seat. This forces them to spend in each race.
* Counter Voter Suppression - GOTV. The corporate/conservative complex will attempt to suppress the vote. The Voter ID Bill is an example. So we need to point out to the effects of this bill and these efforts to groups these efforts target: older voters, student voters, minority voters, women voters. We need these targeted groups to know that the conservacorps are trying to disenfranchise them. This is not just about this election, but every election into the future.
* We don't have the money to match the corporate donors, but we do have a Local Community Presence. We have teachers, police, firefighters, nurses, trash collectors, snowplow operators, and so on. The conservatives will push the local companies, banks, Chambers of Commerce that the bad liberals will make it impossible to do business in Wisconsin. We need to point out that the reason that We Like It Here (a former State slogan) is because Wisconsin is clean, safe, has great schools and hard workers is because we support our teachers, police, firefighters, nurses, trash collectors, snowplow operators, and we support their place at the collective bargaining table.
* Conservative advertising will say that you need to vote your pocketbook. We need to broadcast loud-and-clear that the tax savings of the draconian collective bargaining clause will be passed on to corporate buddies, not to local taxpayers. If you really vote your pocketbook, you will vote to restore sanity.
