A county Republican Party chairman in central Illinois called a black female congressional candidate the “love child” of the Democratic party; a “street walker” whose “pimps” are party leaders; and suggested that after the election, she will be “working for some law firm that needs to meet their quota for minority hires.”

This is allegedly racist because? Anyway ...
The target, Erika Harold, is a former Miss America (2003), a Harvard Law grad, and a Republican. She's running for the nomination in the Illinois 13th. The author, one Jim Allen, is Montgomery County GOP chair, and prefers a different, more conservative (shock!) candidate. One of the white male persuasion named Rodney Davis, an incumbent.
So, we have the GOP arguing that they don't need to change beliefs, just put new faces on them ... and then they treat a very good African American female candidate like this. Because she's not conservative enough.
I don't feel right about helping the Republicans, but I will offer one piece of advice: your problem is your base. To change your base you will have to change your message. Your base will be outraged. You will lose a lot of elections.
That's the good news.
The bad news is that if you don't outrage your base by moving away from idiotic policies, you will be destroyed, and you will hurt America in your death throes.
Choose wisely.
How history will probably view the 2010's version of the GOP.
