She's a bitch! She's racist! She's a rich racist bitch who is out of touch! She's Hillary! And we're Daily Kos, duly repeating every piece of messaging that comes out of the RNC to describe her.
Don't be dumb, people.
Sec. Clinton simply did not make the statements ascribed to her in today's top recommended diary about her financial status and outlook on the world. You have taken partial quotes, given to you out of context by Republican operatives, and you are doing their dirty work for them.
There are a lot of reasons to be skeptical about Sec. Clinton and about any potential candidacy in 2016 that she might be considering. I am very skeptical indeed.
But remember that Sec. Clinton as she is portrayed in the media is an invention of the right-wing. We need to do ourselves the service of looking at the platforms proposed by all the candidates who introduce themselves into the primary race.
Rather than letting ourselves be manipulated by our political opponents, let's talk instead about the ideas and issues that are important to us and measure our candidates based on their support for our own ideas for how the country should work.
What's important to me?
Child welfare.
Education.
Jobs.
Healthcare.
Retirement security.
We should be pressing our top politicians to put forward an agenda that addresses our needs on these and other key issues, rather than falling into traps about "Hillary" set for us by Fox News, the New York Post and the Wall St. Journal.
Your anti-Hillary rage is being cultivated by the enemies of -- say -- Social Security. They want confusion in our ranks for the express purpose of suffocating our interest in the issues that are important to us.
Stop falling into the trap.
