In case you thought the
arrest of two reporters covering the shooting death of Michael Brown last week in Ferguson, Missouri, was some sort of anomaly and that the media has been free to do their job, think again.
Last night:
"Get the f--k out of here and keep that light off or you're getting shelled with this," an officer appeared to shout at Mustafa Hussein, the operator of the Argus Radio Livestream channel, "You're in our way!"
Prior to the incident, Hussein could be seen using a light to get a better view of the scene, but did not appear to be directly blocking police activity.
Hussein can be heard on the video asking for the name of "the officer who threatened to shoot me" and "had a gun pointed directly in my face." To no one's surprise, he didn't get it.
Apparently the Ferguson police aren't big fans of transparency. Speaking of, are they ever going to release the incident report on the shooting of Michael Brown? Now that they've shared the reports on an unrelated robbery? And while they're at it, perhaps the Ferguson police could release the hospital report detailing the injuries Officer Darren Wilson allegedly suffered while putting six bullets in Michael Brown's body.
