If you heard the Big News® today already, I know what you're thinking: Why isn't he making a bigger deal about the 9.5 million number?? Answer: Because, as regular readers know, I've been saying that QHPs would hit 9.5 million around 1/15 for nearly a month now. The only major missing pieces of the puzzle were the CA & NY renewals.
That being said, there were some other noteworthy items today as well:
--GUEST POST: Unraveling the "Pediatric Age" Proposal
--The Latest on the King Thing
--Breaking: Indiana gets alternative ACA Medicaid expansion program approved, starts TODAY
--Michigan: So much for being tapped out...ACA Medicaid expansion up to 533K
--Florida: Fascinating...Exchange QHPs INCREASED 11% from June to August, 2014
Of course, the ASPE report was the Big TIcket news item of the day...
--Here We Go: 9.54 Million QHPs confirmed: 2nd Monthly HHS Enrollment Report, broken down
--More Notes of Interest from the 2nd HHS Monthly Report
...which is the perfect setup for tomorrow's "weekly snapshot" of HC.gov only:
--For the Record: Wednesday's HC.gov weekly snapshot should total around 7.36 Million
One other mildly noteworthy tidbit: This is the first time that the confirmed QHP plan selection total has shot up above the estimated paid QHP number, for whatever that's worth.
