Thanks to
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2003/12/18/211359/74 (Bill Rehm's diary entry) I finally decided to de-lurk. This poem was the result. I edited it a bit from that post to dumb it down that much more. I'm a slave to technique.
But no, I didn't decide to read the manual and see how to edit link titles and stuff. Standard HTMLish stuff pops up an error...grr.
See Ken Lay.
Ken Lay is a good man.
He likes God and stuff, I think.
But he is a bit sad now.
The S E C made him take a perp walk!
What could cheer him up?
Oh, I know! A tax cut!
If Ken Lay had had a tax cut then,
He would have made it to his goal
In that much less time.
He would not have had to 'lose'
Quite so much dough for the folks
Who worked for him!!!!!
Well, they did the grunt work, but
Ken had the know how that makes the U S A great.
But those poor slobs!
They might have twelve grand left now
For their years of work
And plans to save.
Not just four grand!
Well, they can still do a lot with four grand.
They can give it all to George
As he runs to stay in the White House!
He needs all the help he can get.
Not in the first stage,
Where no one will try to beat him,
But you can still cough up the scratch.
If you don't hand him two grand then,
You lose your chance!
And oh! the scum that wait!
Mean Dean and Gore the Bore.
Hill and Bill and Wes Clark.
And those jerks who look at stats
And still see 'George got less votes than Al!'
It's been three years, guys. Sheesh.
What's a man who wears a suit
(but not while at his ranch
or if he gives a speech to our troops)
to do?
Gosh! I hope he wins out in the end!
