The United States is planning a huge naval exercise within close proximity of mainland China. Apparently, Bush doesn't have enough problems with a guerilla war in Iraq, a nuclear-armed North Korea, and a soon-to-be nuclear-armed Iran. The U.S. has decided to make China a Soviet-style military adversary for the 21st century. Unfortunately, it wasn't until quite recently that China showed any inclination to build up her military capabilities. Her nuclear arsenal was smaller than Israel's for many years. Now the United States is sending word to the Yellow Man that you may bury us economically one day, but we still got a lot of big bombs. The Chinese response has been rather blunt, we can sink one, or two U.S. carrier groups today, and take on six, or seven at one time, in less than a decade, or in other words, Taiwan is ours, with, or without U.S. protection.
