Burning questions:
Who will be the republican to face Gov. Blagojevich?
In the race for state treasurer, will the state Democratic Party and downstate outweight (and nominate Paul Mangieri) the power of Obama, Durbin and the city of Chicago (and nominate Alexi Giannoulias)?
Who will replace Henry Hyde? Duckworth, Cegelis or Scott?
Which republican will win the honor of losing to Cong. Melissa Bean?
I voted for or supported:
Eisendrath. (Purely a protest vote, I don't actually want him to win. But voting for Blago in both the primary and general is just too much to take)
(Supported) Duckworth. I used to live in the 6th district until Madigan and Hastert gerrymandered me out. I know I'm gonna get hell for this, but Cegelis' ran a horrible campaign. Duckworth is not a perfect candidate, but Cegelis' performance was so poor the party had to do something to at least keep the seat competitve in the fall.
Voted for Laesch for Congress. Long shot race, but he's run a good campaign dispite an unfavorable district.
Giannoulis. Don't care about the supposed mob ties, thats mostly speculation. Mangeri is not a bad guy, ran a hell of a race for state senate in 2002, but downstate seems to elect too many DINO's
