I've been a subscriber to Salon since 1996 and felt good about it not only for supporting alternative, on-line media but because of the rich, satisfying content they have always provided.
During the last year, I've found that some mornings I simply forget to click on Salon because there are so many good blogs to read. Then, when I do remember to check them out, I discover that most of the articles and essays are simple rehashes of stuff I read on a blog days before.
The last few months the content there has steadily declined not only in quantity but quality. Maybe once every month there's a contribution worth linking.
Anyway, I'm considering not renewing my subscription and I'm wondering if I'm the only one that feels that way. Is there a back story to David Talbot's departure? Did some of their better writers go with him? Should I continue to support them and hope they improve? Or, am I wasting my money?
