Instructions for writing a deep-thinking daily conservative column:
- Select current stupid conserative idea (X).
- Explain to readers, more in sorrow than anger, why liberals are elitist.
- Liberal elitism originates from their insistence upon calling stupid idea X
stupid.
All this does is alienate conservatives. You do not win friends by calling people stupid.
Liberals are stupid elitists that fail to see reality by insisting that stupid ideas are stupid.
Liberals should learn to be more like me and embrace the stupidity.
4) Tomorrows column - select current stupid conservative idea.
Saletan totally embraces his inner stupidity in his Slate
column today:
What Matters in Kansas - The evolution of creationism.
His thesis is, surprisingly:
It's too bad liberals and scientists don't welcome this test. It's too bad they go around sneering, as censors of science often have, that the new theory is too radical, offensive, or embarrassing to be taken seriously. It's too bad they think good science consists of believing the right things. In the long view--the evolutionary view--good science consists of using evidence and experiment to find out whether what we thought was right is wrong. If they do that in Kansas, by whatever name, that's all that matters.
Of course, scientists and "liberals" DO welcome this test.
IDer scientists are more than welcome to perform experiments, submit papers, aaargue in scientific journals just like all scientists - and always have been.
What has occured is that thus far ID scientists have failed this test.
And what is happening in Kansas is not that "liberals" are failing to allow ID to be tested, but that the IDers are trying to change the rules of science and have the validity of scientific hypotheses judged by politically elected school boards.
Now come on you elitist scientists - listen to my wisdom - embrace the stupidity like me.
