I posted a comment upon another diary a few minutes ago trying to promote involvement of Kossacks re the hurricane and its effects upon national gas prices.

The point is we can bitch, whine, etc the rest of our lives or we can be proactive for a change. We can determine outcomes if we only think and act accordingly.
We can not assume the MSM, the Bush administration, any political party or leader is going to lead us out of our national mess.
Katrina is going to hit mainland right in the wallet. Once again in our lives we have a single collective threat that can form the common bond between us all.
We can not ignore this. We need to create an urgency and awareness to the coming crisis and to make certain that America realizes that the blogs/internet/dailykos was the initial point of the voice calling for deliberate thought and action.
Consider this carefully, what can we as Americans, as consumers, as Kossacks do that will create solutions to this overwhelming problem?
What can we do that costs NOTHING?
What can we do that involves NO EFFORT?
We have to conserve fuel. IOW, no un-necessary trips, no idle trips, no waste!
We need to wake America up right now! Post this blog as a link or write your own diary or LTE or email or phone or yard sign or (you think of the way to communicate).
Make sure the world knows we are being proactive, we are Kossacks, we are not going to allow others including business and natural disasters to cause our country harm.
Stress the absolute importance of common sense until this problem is either solved or it passes into history.
Stress the ease and how cost effective our solutions are.
Don't forget we are Americans, consumers, Kossacks in that order.
