New York City's Mayor Bloomberg has taken a brave stand against those seeking to cause havoc in our city?
Last night, as TWU Local 100 went out on strike, Bloomberg offered the city these encouraging words.
Do they sound familier to you?
It is a cowardly attempt by Roger Toussaint and the TWU to bring the City to its knees to create leverage for their own bargaining position. We cannot give the TWU the satisfaction of causing the havoc they desperately seek to create.
Going forward, we will need to be patient, considerate and resilient. We can't let inconveniences, as massive as they are, stop our economy, shut down our schools, or jeopardize public safety.
It will no doubt be a difficult time for people of this City and the region as a whole. But New Yorkers have made a habit of pulling through tough times and showing doubters what we're made of. These traits will be put to the test as long as this strike lasts.

Or to put it more briefly, don't let the terrorists win.
Bloomberg is shamelessly envoking 9/11 inorder to discredit the union.
Well, I for one would like to thank the "cowardly" Roger Toussaint and all members of TWU100 for standing up for the rights of working people. The Bloomberg and Pataki administrations have systematically been chipping away at the long and proud union tradition of New York. While other unions have been working for years without contracts, the transit workers have refused and now are being equated to terrosists.
Tell Bloomberg what you think of his fear mongering.
