Members of the thin blue line.
You who are sworn to uphold the law.
Officers of the court. Officers of the law.
Look at your uniform, your badge, your symbols of office.
You who take pride in in your duty to serve and protect. Is yours a badge of honor?
Sheriffs, deputies look in the mirror.
District Attorneys, Attorney General.
Secret Service Agents, you too are sworn to uphold the law.
A man was shot.
The world is watching while a man's life hangs in the balance.
Most of the reports in the media have been sunny. Comments on this blog had been light hearted. Until Mr. Whittington's wounds were revealed to be much worse than the White House and Mr. Cheney's hunting party originally stated.
No joking now.
If the Secret Service obstructed justice by preventing the Sheriff from collecting evidence in a timely matter, shame. Shame on you. If charges are warranted you must do your duty.
It is material to know whether or not Mr. Cheney was impaired by alcohol. What other evidence might have been tampered with or removed? Were alibis fabricated and collaborated?
Who's in charge of this investigation? Get the evidence. Get the facts. Get them now.
Was the initial assessment of the shooting influenced by politics? How then are we to understand the initial charge against Mr. Cheney? Could he be charged with anything less than failing to pay a $7 hunting stamp?
Sweep this under the carpet and you sweep you career under the carpet.
Get to work!
