This is my first diary, and I'm writing to ask advice as to what to do in today's Texas primaries.
I've voted Dem all my life, and, believe me, will do so in November, too. That said, I live in an EXTREMELY republican outskirt of Austin--Lakeway, to be specific--so Republican, in fact, that there are NO signs up for a Democratic candidate for ANYTHING out here.
I'm wondering if my vote would be better spent reading the placards outside how the Young Republicans suggest their friends vote, and then go in and vote for the competitor, perhaps helping to put in an unpopular candidate for them in Noveme.... or should I go ahead and vote in the Dem primary?
I am woefully ignorant of my local politics, I've only moved here recently. Are there any Austin Kossacks who are familiar with the candidates, issues, and could give me some advice? Are there any Dean-backed DFA-style candidates for a Lakeway citizen to vote for?
Again, this is my first diary, please don't beat me up too much in the comments!
