As I posted in a
diary last week, the Penn College Democrats are hosting a fundraiser on campus tomorrow night. While we're completing final preparations tonight, we have a great panel of speakers as well - bloggers Chris Bowers (from MyDD) and Duncan Black (Atrios), along with city councilman and mayoral candidate Michael Nutter, former congressman and U.S. Senate candidate Joe Hoeffel, and the two Murphys running for Congress in Pennsylvania - Lois (PA-06) and Patrick (PA-08). I know that Atrios has already
posted about this event over at Eschaton, and
Booman also plans on attending.
While I know most Kossacks probably aren't in the Philadelphia area, for those of you who are, it would be great to come by and show your support for helping the Penn Dems continue to build up a strong organization on campus and off (we were just named as the top state chapter in Pennsylvania this past weekend). I believe that building a competent organization at the college level is of utmost importance in the rebuilding of the Democratic Party, and starting right here in Philadelphia is a great place to begin.
To view a more detailed schedule of the event, you can go to our website for a detailed schedule, along with our menu for the night - hors d'oeuvres and dessert will be served. The event begins at 7:00 PM in Houston Hall (the location is slightly changed from our original location, unfortunately; however, this newer location is a much nicer place). If you can't make it, but would like to contribute, you can simply go to our website (follow the link above) and click on the 'Contribute' button on the left (currently set up for Paypal only...sorry!).
Once again, any presence from dKos would be wonderful to have, especially since three prominent Philly bloggers will also be present. Thanks for all your support!
