Interesting. Today I learned about two important and distinctly different developments concerning my high school and college Alma Maters (I apologize if I'm not using the correct Latin plural - my Etymology professor would kill me if he knew!). More...
First, I find out that my high school, Archmere Academy in Claymont, Delaware, is
planning on naming a wing after the family of infamous convicted death row killer Thomas Capano and his three convict brothers!
What's worse is that Joe Biden was an alum of my high school, and they were planning on naming the wing after HIM, but the bishop of the archdiocese doesn't like his stance on abortion! Now, I know we don't all see eye-to-eye on Biden, but last I checked, he is incapable of having an abortion himself, but simply being pro-choice is less desirable than being a convicted murderer. File that under "Why I am no longer a Catholic."
The second news is now a top-rated diary. Yes, I also went to Boston College, and I must say I'm proud that faculty and staff are taking a stand against Rice's visit. We always had a small but vocal counter-culture there, led by some hard core professors. Good for them!
