World War 3.
Stare at that phrase. It may be what we are looking at here folks. Pains me to type it. How could this be? As humanity, have we learned nothing? Watching Biden and Newt go on today on MTP, I have to admit that they BOTH have valid points. They are speaking from different angles, politically, but they both said in effect: We have a major problem here. Lebanon. Israel. Syria. Iran. Iraq. North Korea. Gaza. This is the start of something here. And we may be caught with our pants down, holding Israels hand.
What to do?
Joe "7-11" Biden for me is a contradiction. One day he is a brilliant foreign policy scholar, a senator with dignity and knowledge, someone who speaks clearly and offers sensible solutions. Thank god that was the Joe Biden that showed up today. There were no 7-11 cracks. His analysis of the dilemma this country finds itself in was dead on. He could be Presidential material, were it not for Joe Biden's evil twin. Newt on the other hand is the college teacher I loved to hate. He throws flames out there that piss you off. He's egotistical. He's pompous. He's opinionated. He has a large head, figureativly and literally. And unfortunately, he's right at least half the time. He is no dummy. He did have some valid points, although his "solutions" are sometimes quite scary. Scary as they may be, his points do make you think.
It was depressing and enlightening to hear both of thier points of view, all critical of current american foreign policy. I think Bush has a major problem here. Talk about in over his head.
So lets get to the heart of the matter here. Most of us here on Kos are more of the liberal tilt. But lets look at this honestly.
-Do you think we are on the way to WW3?
-Do you think the United Nations is now as useless as he League of Nations became before World War 2?
