It is painful watching Elizabeth Smart's face while being interviewed by Nancy.
Here is the footage...

While Nancy describes the details of this young girl's traumatic experience back to Ms. Smart all the horrible memories were probably coming back to this young woman. Grace went so far to ask her, "you were afraid, I assume?" No shit, Nancy. Of course she was. Even after Ms. Smart warned Nancy to talk to her about the bill she is trying to push and not about her traumatic experience, Nancy did not not take the hint, continuing to discuss Ms. Smart's past.
Nancy said she "completely understands" that Ms. Smart did not want to talk about it, but failed to take responsibility for what she said. I have little doubt that Nancy will say these things to a victim again. How dare Nancy not only ask obviously offensive and simplistic questions to Ms. Smart, but continued to milk this young woman's story for all it was worth just to increase ratings is disgusting. She is being used as a media image, not being treated as a human being. Are getting ratings worth more than Smart's feelings? I do not think so, but some people in the networks obviously do.
Elizabeth knew that Nancy was milking the pain of her tragic story for all it was worth: you could see it in her eyes during the interview. You could hear in her voice that she wanted to discuss the bill. She obviously wants to put the experience behind her and push her bill through. Smart obviosuly does not want to remember the experience: she probably spends every waking moment trying to forget. She was obviously extremely uncomfortable.
Shame on Nancy Grace! Nancy, if you ever get hold of this Kos entry, read Smart's words over: "You know, I`m really not going to talk about this at this time. I mean, that`s something I just don`t even look back at. And I really -- I really -- to be frankly honest, I really don`t appreciate you bringing all this up." Ms. Smart was just plain tired of you prying into her story. I literally felt Smart's aggravation towards your questioning. I feel her aggravation towards you.
Nancy, did you really want people to hear Ms. Smart's voice? If you really wanted people to hear her voice you would have let her talk about what she wanted to and not pressue her to answer your hurtful questions. Shame!
