Coming off the heels of my
ever so successful diary last time, I've collected the data and got it all organized and shit.
Sweetness.
As of 6:42 pm Chicago-time on July 24th, there were 421 votes in my super-happy awesome fun-time poll. Now there are 427, but screw those new 6 people, I'm not re-doing the math because they took their time getting to my poll.
Here's the break down, even though the poll was horribly flawed:
Legal - 54 votes, 12.83% of total
Service Industry - 17 votes, 4.04% of total
Education - 74 votes, 17.57% of total
Performing (acting / singing / band) - 5 votes, 1.19% of total
Secretarial - 10 votes, 2.38% of total
Athletic - 1 vote, 0.24% of total
Business - 57 votes, 13.54% of total
Public - (police, fire-fighter, water dept., etc.) - 21 votes, 4.99% of total
Medical - 29 votes, 6.89% of total
Other (specify general category in comment) - 114 votes, 27.07% of total
Disabled - 9 votes, 2.14% of total
Unemployed - 30 votes, 7.12% of total
For a relatively obvious total of 421 votes, 100%.
Many people pointed out professions I missed like science, technology, parent, students, retired, etc etc. So, I spent some time looking through all the professions listed in the comments section of my last diary and broke them all down into the following 15 general categories:
Legal
Engineering
Agriculture
Medicine
Customer Service
Manager / Administration
Education / Research
Publication / Entertainment
Business / Finance
Parent / Child care / Non-profit
Science / Technology
Government / Politics / Military / City work
Contractor / Labor / Manufacturing
Unemployed / Retired / Disabled
Fuck you, Blaz, my job's not up here.
Pretty self-explanatory, I'd think. Some samples:
If you're a cop, a fire-fighter, etc., then you work for the city, thus you'd pick the Government / Politics / etc. one. If you work in media, you'd pick Publication / Entertainment. And Customer service can be anything from waiting tables to working in a grocery store.
Anyway, I'm sure I forgot some more jobs or they won't fit into a category easily, but just do the best you can. If you can't figure it out, I'm sure you know which option to pick.
Savages.
Anyway, enjoy this. There was a good deal of interest in the last one, let's see if this one is as popular with the NEW! and IMPROVED FLAVOR! poll.
