This is my first post, so bear with me...
Time Magazine posted an interview with 'Left Behind' author Tim Lahaye and his thoughts on the current Mid East crisis. His response will come as no surprise:
"I have often said that no one knows the day nor the hour that Christ will come, but no generation has had so many signs of the times as our generation. We have more reason to believe that Christ could come in our lifetime than any generation before us."
More below...
Hmm. Well with Rapture imminent, time to start giving away your possessions, right?
"[TIME] You recently donated a whole lot of money for a hockey rink at Liberty University. If these are the end times, why make an investment like that?
[Lahaye]-[Laughs.] My strategy is that Canada and Northern America produces the bulk of hockey players. We use the ice rink to get the hockey players to come to Liberty University where many of them are exposed to accept Christ. Many of them come because they are Christians. They are challenged to go into the ministry, and we've already had some of the guys in the earlier classes that graduated, and they're going home to Canada to start churches." (Brackets mine)
No, guess there's a few more minutes to brainwash more potential customers. Jesus wants us all to make a quick buck. That's in the Book of Abramoff, I believe.
Anyway the real point of this diary, is to ask, WHY DID TIME DEVOTE 4 PAGES TO THIS SELF-AGGRANDIZING FLAKE!!! Remember when Time did serious articles on War and Politics? OK, I don't either. But if this guy wasn't rich and famous, he would be begging for change on a street corner.
Disgusting.
