I had originally diaried this
yesterday, but got 8 or so comments on it. I'm thinking people just missed it, so I wanted to make sure that it was seen by as many people as possible. It's pretty fucking important if you haven't read it.
What follows on the flip is pretty much the same diary as the one I posted yesterday. Please read and spread this news until every American - especially those millions of Americans who have languished, languishing or will languish for 4-6 hours at the airport going through the motions and having to dump their water, medicine or what-have-you while watching Fox News and recoiling in fear all because Bush has tried to fuck them...and fuck you all, too.
Here we go...you ready?
From now on, EVERYONE should question the Bush Administration's honesty whenever they try to play politics with terrorism because
THIS says it all.
While the British terror suspects were hatching their plot, the Bush administration was quietly seeking permission to divert $6 million that was supposed to be spent this year developing new homeland explosives detection technology.
Thankfully:
Congressional leaders rejected the idea, the latest in a series of steps by the Homeland Security Department that has left lawmakers and some of the department's own experts questioning the commitment to create better anti-terror technologies.
I guess when they're not abandoning their GOP camp, some Rethugs are trying to at least put some distance between themselves and the Bushco.
Homeland Security's research arm, called the Sciences & Technology Directorate, is a "rudderless ship without a clear way to get back on course," Republican and Democratic senators on the Appropriations Committee declared recently.
"The committee is extremely disappointed with the manner in which S&T is being managed within the Department of Homeland Security," the panel wrote June 29 in a bipartisan report accompanying the agency's 2007 budget.
And Bush is what? The war president? The security president?
The department failed to spend $200 million in research and development money from past years, forcing lawmakers to rescind the money this summer.
The administration also was slow to start testing a new liquid explosives detector that the Japanese government provided to the United States earlier this year.
Never fear, though. Because our Prezdint, the Dear Lord and our Savior is already (In)action as usual:
Crawford, TX (AHN) - President George W. Bush helps Republicans raise big money by headlining a barbecue at a ranch near his Crawford, Texas vacation home.
Kathy and Stan Hicky own the Broken Spoke Ranch, where the event took place. The fundraiser has been held annually since the start of Bush's presidency. The barbecue attracted 350 people, and raised $750,000 for the Republican National Committee.
Does anyone remember what a BIG DEAL it was to the MSM when Hillary once used a chopper to go get her hair done during the Clinton years? Every frickin' person in the media cried foul!
I don't know...but for me, this Bush Inaction story is a little more flagrant, don't ya think? Just a little more...
Simply amazing...or sad...or both.
I'd be VERY disappointed if the MSM allows this story to die.
Don't let this story die, MSM! It's your duty as Americans to question this Administration about why they tried to cut funding - 6 fucking million dollars (chump change for Halliburton) - on something so vital, something that's already affecting the lives of your children, you, your family, friends, neighbors, colleagues and all fellow Americans alike!
So, please, MSM...for the LOVE OF GOD, be responsible citizens for a change and do your job! I want Tony Snow grilled about this first thing on Monday morning!
Either that...or some of us are going to have to quit our jobs and go back to school to get our Journalism degrees.
