While most responsible Democrats in the United States Senate are doing the right thing and supporting the choice of the people of Connecticut for U.S. Senate, a few rogue Democrats are supporting the incumbency protection racket instead, and casting their lot with Joseph Lieberman (L-4-CT).
So far, I have Ben Nelson (NE), Mark Pryor (AR), Ken Salazar (CO), and Thomas Carper (MBNA) as charter members of former Democrat Lieberman's new whiny-titty-baby party. I've been away from the internet for most of the past couple of days, so it's quite possible I've missed a few other charter members of Joe's band of wanna-be Republicans.
Where do your Senators stand? Is your Democratic senator on record as supporting the people's choice, Ned Lamont? What about Republican senators? (It would be interesting to see what the margin of Republican versus Democratic support for Senator Schmoe might be...)
It was a great rush going to Connecticut to help Ned Lamont upset George W. Bush's favorite "Democrat," although it was hot as fuck-all and pretty exhausting. I met some great people, and had a blast going door-to-door with my plucky three-month-old in tow and working for change and accountability in the US Senate. I'll tell more about the experience in a future diary.
