I had a
Recommended diary yesterday which showed the initial political cartoons from around the country on Foleygate. Well, today there's a HUGE spate of more cartoons, and the tone of them is definitely getting harsher and more pointed toward the GOP, specifically Dennis Hastert. Oh man, is he ever catching flack for this. More and more papers are publishing political cartoons about this growing scandal.
Again, these cartoons come courtesy of MSNBC and Daryl Cagle. In all, 29 more cartoons were put up in the past 24 hours.
This is from the Akron (Ohio) Beacon-Journal:
Many, many more political cartoons after the fold.
Instead of giving you guys just the best ones, I've decided to properly show what the national mood is in the realm of political cartoonists, it's best to show ALL of them. Some you will like better than others. A few try to shift the focus to the Democrats.
First, after people praised Mike Lester for his cartoon that was the one I put above the fold in my diary yesterday, he goes and draws this for the Rome (GA) News-Tribune:
And Daryl Cagle himself, drawing for MSNBC.com, has one that's not exactly that favorable to the Democrats either. The phrase "wild-eyed" comes to mind.
But aside from that, they're focusing squarely on the GOP's troubles. Notice the shift in the focus of these cartoons from the ones I posted yesterday. While some still make Mark Foley the focus, more and more we see a turn toward the GOP leadership itself. Foley himself IS taking a backseat to the GOP leadership being put on the hot seat.

Finally, these cartoons specifically bring up Dennis Hastert. The political cartoon mood certainly seems to indicate that he's toast.
