I don't know how many people here have experience with online coding projects, but here goes.
Basically I am looking to develop a non-partisan website devoted to applying some of the community building powers the internet has to GOTV campaigns. I'm not going to be long winded, or explain the idea in full here. If you're interested, and have some time to devote to coding/promoting such a website, you'll just have to follow through and send an E-mail to FromtheMidwest (at) gmail.com after which I will forward you a pdf description of the project.
Some more details on the flip...
If you are still interested, please send me an E-mail that describes:
1) Your technical know-how. I am quite proficient with PHP/MySQL so that is the likely development environment. List any projects and coding languages you know along with your proficiency level. Would love to hear from anyone with Java, HTML, PHP/MySQL, ASP, as well as artists and promoters.
2) How much time you have to contribute to the project. If you aren't sure, just say that.
3) If you don't posess coding knowledge but still want to be involved or see the idea please feel free to inquire by sending me an E-mail with how you feel you can contribute to building/promoting an online community(note: this group will in no way be in competition with DKos but it will hopefully work along with it).
This is for a good cause, it may be a bit late for this election cycle but I can see nothing but good coming from getting more young people to vote. God knows our country needs it at this point.
Once this project gets started I will post further here to keep the community up to date on our progress and when you can expect to see a finished product.
