There's little doubt.
In one short week, the most important election of our lifetime will occur. No ... I take that back ... it may be the most important event of all time.
If malleable folks in this country haven't gotten it by now, my friends, they never will. Forget 2008. A victory by the dark side on November 7 may truly slam the door on this nation's ability to flip the ship back over.
So, in the next 7 days ... 168 hours ... 10,080 minutes (give or take), do what you need to do to GOTV, change a few minds, or scream the vocal chords raw from the highest mountain or desk top; but after the polls close next Tuesday, push the keyboard away, shut down the computer, walk out the door, and reach out to other progressives to watch what unfolds as the evening passes.
If you must, share your thoughts and emotions that night here electronically on Kos. (It most assuredly beats belching at the tube with Chrissy Matthews), But. if you can, waddle next door to a like-minded neighbor ... find a local progressive group and bond emotionally as the evening passes .... Or find a liberal watching party at your favorite pub and knock back a few adult beverages.
For this is a night for what we Dems and progressives hold most dearly, a celebration of hope in what we can do together.
So ... get out ... meet someone new (or old) ... hold hands and hug (physically or metaphorically... whatever floats your boat) ... share thoughts ... rejoice ... or cry (let's hope there is little of that).
Use this space to share your plans for election night and give others an idea as to what they can do to reach out, share, and embrace in 7 short days.
(And ... ahem ... here in Big D ... A few of us plan to be at the watching party at the Adam's Mark... see ya there!)
