The media consortium have allowed reporters from FOX, NBC, CNN,ABC, CBS, and AP sit in a closed room all day analyzing the exit poll data. They are polling the Senate races, not individual house seats. They were allowed in with no cells, blackberries, or any other communication devices.
In about 5 minutes, they get to run out of the room screaming to their bosses about which way the polls are going. Which should mean a shift in coverage will probably happen. I wanted to start this thread just for tone of coverage starting right now from the people part of this consortium.
As the coverage starts back up again at 5PM EST, what message are these folks sending to the viewers? The media are like little children. They can't totally keep the secret to themselves, they will hint as to what is going on just by how they frame the stories.
I'd appreciate folks chiming in on anything they are picking up in the coverage starting now.
5PM They are released. It should take less than 15 minutes for the talking heads to get the gist of the data.
UPDATE Fox News says Republicans are "glum". Define glum for me folks. Tradesports contract for GOP house control as of 5:12 EST is now at 15.5 and falling fast.
UPDATE 2: CNN says corruption was the #1 issue for voters. Who do you all think that favors? Oh, and taxes were not a high priority for voters this election.
Update 3: John King of CNN said that our chance of taking the Senate was "dicey". Bad news with the good. It still is looking like our night in the House, and we are poised to close in on the Senate.
UPDATE #4: Noron O'Donnell on MSNBC said that the GOP is about to lose a bunch of governorships. ABCNEWS.com is fronting the fact that 6 in 10 voters dissaprove of Bush and Iraq War
