[UPDATE: Senator Johnson's office reports via MSNBC that he has not had a stroke (or a heart attack). He is still under observation at the hospital, and there was obviously something wrong with him because the hill doc called an ambo. In any case, it's not a stroke.]

Lets all pray that this is a minor ailment. He's not an old man. South Dakota has a Republican governor.
Johnson defeated three-term Senator Larry Pressler (R) in the 1996 U.S. Senate election, making him the only Senate candidate to defeat an incumbent in a year which saw an extremely large number of open seats. In 2002, he defeated his successor in the at-large House seat, U.S. Representative John Thune (R), by 524 votes to win re-election in 2002.
UPDATE: FYI - I saw this on MSNBC
UPDATE 2: MSNBC: "Apparent Stroke"
UPDATE 3: Live from MSNBC - happened in the afternoon at the capitol. They called the doctor. He's under observation at George Washington hospital.
UPDATE 4: Let's all calm down a little bit. He was the one who called for the doctor, and George Washington is one of the best medical facilities in the world. He's relatively young and in good health.
I'm being compared to a blog-papparazo...
I like this comment:
When the lives of 300 million are impacted
and the world is spinning off its hinges, it's not exactly out of line to consider how this would effect the Dem Majority.
Really, shame on you for being self-righteous and morally indignant, and completely oblivious to the grave situation all we all find ourselves.
