Florida, with a huge number of electoral votes and a history of controversial election results is clearly a key state in determining the outcome of the '08 Presidential election. Yes Katherine Harris and Jeb! are no longer the Secretary of State and governor, but the legislature, governorship and much of the judicial branch is in control of the Republican party. This means two things, ready endorsements for the Republican nominee and control of vote counting. The poll results and random thoughts follow.

Sure, Florida will have a have a safer voting system in place in '08 oddly thanks to Charlie Crist, the new Republican governor, but it will be new and subject to glitches. In my view, due to potential problems with the new voting machines and Republican control of the state government, there cannot be room in the results for question to assure the winner is actually named the winner.
I have no novel suggestions for securing Florida for the Democratic nominee. Hard, consistant work from the candidates, money, grassrooters killing themselves and a coalescing of support for the evential nominee from all Florida Democrats goes without saying.
What more can you Kos folks suggest be done to secure Florida in '08?
