Another week of political cartoons, another cartoon roundup.
CARTOON OF THE WEEK
Oh boy, more Benchmarks
Every day liberal cartoonists are hard at work, doodling while avoiding their real jobs and responsibilities. Sometimes you see the results, and sometimes you don't. At Left 'Toon Lane we think a cartoon is worth a thousand words, and that sometimes the Bush Administration is so perfectly ironic that only a cartoon can capture the reality. This week seven different artists produced twelve different cartoons about today's politics. I hope you enjoy them, and that you'll come to Left 'Toon Lane, not just for the jokes, but for art and artists to punch up your own blogs and publications.
Reduced in size to fit here, some might get fuzzy. But go to Left 'Toon Lane to see them in their full glory.
StormBear has the 'toon of the week, so let us start with the rest of his stuff.
Christian Move To Embrace Hate Speech
Dick Cheney: A series of pulleys, levers and springs.
Paris Hilton Ruins Everything
So now we fight the terrorists here?
How Bush is like a weather vane.
Fuzzy Baghdad Math
Brad Hawkins, author of the brilliant strip Monkey Law, had the 'toon of the week last week, and probably deserved it this week, too. Tough decision, but that's why I get paid the big imaginary bucks.
A Message to You, Rudy
My turn. I'll diary this one later in the week.
Frankenstein's New Monster
Happiechappie and Surliegirlie made several appearances this week, and that's always fun
The 109th US Dildo Regiment Never Gets Deployed
World Bank or World Wank?
Bush's post-presidency post
Fillip does a whole different sort of 'toon, more art than 'toon, and often harder hitting. A real throw-back to the old lithographers and artists.
Dubya: "Kubrick THIS!"
Rock Garden Comics appeared a few times as well. Hand-drawn art with coloring is getting rarer everyday in the cartoon world, so stop to enjoy it while you can.
Dancin' with the (Political) Stars
Are You Threatening Me?
We Can Do It!
Eye of Newt
Last but never least, Al Creed draws for all of us, stepping away from politics for a moment to imagine what happens when a mime meets Vlad the Impaler and Attila the Hun.
Performing The Art Of Mime In Front Of Vlad The Impaler And Attila The Hun
Left 'Toon Lane is an informal group of unaffiliated lefty cartoonists looking for exposure and opportunity. If you see cartoons you want to add to your blog or your publication, please contact me. My contact info is at the Lane. If you want to request art to match a story, go to Left 'Toon Lane, find an artist whose style matches your needs, and contact them for special pieces. And if you are a cartoonist and want to join us, tell me here or contact me from the Lane. We are always looking for new talent to add to the group.
Look here every week for a weekly round up of Left 'Toon Lane, and go there to see what's new.
