I for one think this is very very good news. The Senate has just voted against cloture on the so-called Immigration "Reform" bill. It got only 45 votes for cloture, with 50 against. Since there is not a current open thread, and I feel this is such good news, I'm going to post this as a diary.
This immigration bill would have allowed hundreds of thousands more "guest workers" to flood into the country, depressing already stagnating wages of working Americans.
It rewarded law-breaking, giving de facto amnesty to millions of illegals who snuck over our borders, and this is not fair to the millions of people around the world who are playing by the rules and have waited years to get into America.
For so many reasons, this was bad legislation. I will write a more thorough diary on this issue when I have more time. However, I just wanted to get this good news across to our readers.
