Yesterday I wrote an email to the JetBlue email address given out by Kos, corporatecommunications@jetblue.com, which I posted on my personal blog.
I've been a member and reader here for years, but I've only posted one prior diary, a long time ago! I do want to get into the habit of making public political commentary, so I'm crossposting my letter to JetBlue, in the body of my diary, below.

Dear JetBlue:
So sad to see you getting into a pissing match with blowhard Bill O'Reilly, and getting soaked.
I guess you've learned that perhaps it was a bad idea to get involved in a political function in the first place. It's like this flower market down the street from my house: they put up Bush signs during the last election and even though they are the most convenient and economical choice for me I have not been back. It's just not standard practice, or even necessary, for a business to align itself with one side in a political struggle. Oh, and did I mention that it's stupid?
Of course, call me disingenuous, but if you had stood up to O'Reilly I would have been very happy with your company indeed.
In fact I am very close to booking my flight to New York for a friend's upcoming wedding. Inspired by this fight, and by your seats, I would have chosen JetBlue. Now I think I'll be cashing in some Delta SkyMiles and having a much shorter ride into the city from LaGuardia!!
The thing I cannot fathom is what you are claiming as your fake "rationale" for this decision. That O'Reilly did not like what you were doing? That some people write things on a website that are upsetting to others? I honestly cannot imagine.
Oh well, sucks to be you guys!

Also: yes, I understand that you still made an in-kind donation, and yes that is very generous. And, yes, I understand that the results of this uproar might mean that you are less kind to left-leaning organizations in the future. But I still think that you look like fools in all this!
