This diary is being written as I reach the halfway point of Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them. If there is anyone who gets that we're being hoodwinked, and that Democrats need to get through the clutter and stamp out Republican lies and fear mongering, it is Al Franken.
Plus, he's funny. More below the fold...
Al is doing extremely well so far in his race for the Senate seat in Minnesota. If you want to know where he stands on the issues, I recommend you check out his website, Al Franken '08.
Here's a choice quote:
Al says:
Republicans like to run by saying that government doesn’t work. Then they get elected, and they prove it. It’s gotten to the point where the Democratic Party is both the liberal party AND the conservative party in this country. There’s nothing conservative about record deficits. There’s nothing conservative about billions of dollars in earmarks. There’s nothing conservative about using taxpayer funds to reward your campaign donors. There’s nothing conservative about refusing to pay attention to waste, fraud, and contract abuse in Iraq. And there’s certainly nothing conservative about running out of money so that we can’t invest in things like early childhood education and health care to build a stronger workforce and a stronger America.
But he's only raised $9000 on Blue Majority (through ActBlue), who has endorsed him.. Seriously guys, WTF? Let's get Al some netroots dollars and show Norm Coleman that the people of the United States want Senators who will tell the truth.
Let me make that more clear. DONATE... NOW.
I don't know about you, but in addition to being an excellent, intelligent, truthful human being, I'm looking forward to being able to laugh at something I saw on CSPAN (other than GWB mangling words). Because other than GWB's consistent idiocy, I think it will be a first.
