That's what I heard Cokie Roberts say this morning on ABC This Week, the Sunday morning Stephanopoulos show. And George Will agreed with her. And they didn't mean it in a bad way. Actually maybe they did, but it was at least a "backhanded" compliment to John Edwards and the fact that he's not out of the race yet. Their comments seemed to be a warning directed at Clinton and Obama as well as the "ruling" class in Washington.
So why is he so dangerous? Because he wants to END the Washington influence game. That's why.
But considering how rare it is to hear any of these MSM talking heads say anything about John Edwards at all (other than to badmouth his haircuts I mean), for two of these people to acknowledge Edwards still remains a force to be reckoned with, well, I was pleasantly surprised at Cokie's candor and you could have knocked me over with a feather.
I agree with Cokie Roberts and George Will. Cosbo diaried about this too.

Clinton and Obama better watch out. John Edwards has a message. And people are listening. Cosbo diaried how John Edwards distinguished himself from Hillary Clinton at a recent event in Nashua, NH, and I'll include the entire quote:
"Look, Senator Clinton is right. You can’t pretend the system doesn’t exist, but you also can’t pretend that it works. And this is where she and I part company because I believe that if you defend the system that defeats change, you can’t be the President who will actually bring change, " then he added, "When it comes to the Washington influence game, we need to end it, not defend it.
And that wasn't all. Edwards continued:
"She says you bring change by working within the system established by the Constitution. I think the system has been corrupted by corporate powers never contemplated by the Constitution. This is not the government of, by and for the people that our founding fathers intended. There is no principled compromise between the ways things have always been and the way things can be."
To finish the quote:
"In the America I believe in, we don’t compromise on our principles, we fight for them with every single thing that we got,"
John Edwards believes in an America where I count. ME. John Edwards will fight for me. And I need someone in my corner, since I am not a lobbyist. And one more time, here's the video I love (which can't be shown too many times as far as I'm concerned).
