As someone who occasionally follows the agit-prop activities of Bill O'Reilly, if only to gauge the proximate bottom of gullibility in the Fox news crowd, I tend to perk up when there is something that might be grist for further ridicule of Bill O. Well, folks, today's tidbit could prove to be quite a dilly, as Fox Reality TV is coming out with a show with quite the Halloween theme. And, as the news chatter shows will not hesitate to tell you, Halloween has become the second biggest shopping event holiday--behind Xmas! But, the Fox Reality TV folks may well have presented Bill O' with someone so popular that "Culture Warrior" Bill O may have a hard time telling the show's star to shut up! (For the Halloween star's name, jump)
Fox Reality TV has engaged none other than the campy star Cassandra Peterson, better known as "Elvira: Mistress of the Dark." The show is slated to air on Oct 13, and on a college campus radio show, Ms. Peterson discussed her part in the show, the rigors of being "live" and "in character" for the Reality TV show. Ms. Peterson comes across as literate and persistent in her pursuit of copyrights and suitable material, and has undergone the rigors of film-makers and producers in an effort to bring a product to market, and, in short, sounds perfectly suited to deal with any back-talk from loudmouth Bill O. The show will reportedly be a little like Star-search, only they object is to come up with a contestant worthy of being an "Elvira" look-alike.
Ms. Peterson says she wants to license "officially sanctioned" Elvira performers, sort of in self defense, as she gets so many speaking and acting engagements that she can't be everywhere. This is one Fox show (besides the Simpsons) I'm looking forward to, for the sheer entertainment value of seeing Fox Reality (the entertainment end) present Bill O' with such an obvious target for his synthetic wrath--and whether Bill O will take the bait, and launch a faux war on Halloween, which of course would undercut any energy he could put into the faux "War on Xmas." Elvira T-shirts for men, make-up kits for women, and of course Elvira gowns. Let's go shopping!
