The issue is being totally spun with the most basic truth being completely overlooked in the MSM. Even if a guilty verdict could somehow wipe out the Telco industry financially, the trial certainly won't. There would be plenty of time for congress to step in during the appeal process and provide immunity from civil liability.
There is absolutely no good financial reason to stop the trial before a verdict. Some might swallow the state secret privilege, but I firmly believe that privilege does not cover illegal activities. In addition, the supreme court decision establishing that precedent was proven years later to be based on perjured government testimony. But, that is neither here nor there, as it would be a totally separate argument to make from the financial one.
The argument we need to grant the immunity now to prevent financial collapse is just another round or BUSHHIT.
