"...in this time of war, I simply cannot let my campaign, be a part of aiding a surrender to terror," Romney planned to say in a speech to the Conservative Political Action Conference.
In other words, only if the GOP is unified behind McCain, can they prevent the traitor Democtrats from surrendering to our "enemies." This is Romney's graceless, classless last pander to the conservatives who couldn't save his campaign. Conservative Political Action Conference members who listened to this probably gave him a standing o, who knows? i wouldn't set foot in that room if you paid me a wheelbarrow full of Euros.
This kind of rhetoric is exactly what the Republicans are going to throw at us once again when the general election begins. I hope our candidate will know better than to try and out-tough these neanderthals. We are not a nation of insensitive boys who smash small animals with rocks because we have emotional problems. We are a nation of sensitive caring people. I have to believe that. We can overcome this kind of slander and lead our nation to a better place.
They think we are surrender-monkeys, that we have no ability to see the dangers that lay ahead. But we know that they are like the kid who gets angry at the world and starts killing everything that looks different. They really don't know what they are doing, they just flail away, bombing the crap out of whomever they think might have a future mental-formation which goes against our own "values." It has to end.
I want to be safe. I live in NYC and lived through 9/11. So don't say I'm "aiding a surrender to terror," when every political position you take on foreign policy makes me less safe. You know, they started this war in my city's name, and my city council voted overwhelmingly to reject pre-emptive war.
The complicit corporate media went along with it, allowing anyone who spoke out to be called Anti-American.
We protested by the 100s of thousands and were ignored. Yes, New York was used. Our tragedy was used by Republicans to justify a horrifying invasion and subsequent destruction of an entire society.
Yet, when it came down to New York facing six billion dollar budget shortfall because of the economic collapse which followed 9/11, the Federal government gave us nothing. We bailed ourselves out with an 18% property tax hike. Thanks George. All the money went to sacrificing lives so you and your friends could get rich.
I love my country. It's hard sometimes when it's filled with jerks like Mitt. But i still believe we can rise above all this. The way to fight back is this:
The true champions of surrenderer are those who would ignore the social implications of the great tragedies of 9/11 and Katrina. Bush and Mitt have surrendered New Orleans to the waters, and only the spirit of the people there is bringing the city back. Bush and Mitt have surrendered NYC to the rest of the world, as a plunging dollar allows our assets to be scooped up by everyone but us. It's supposed to be patriotic to ignore the destruction of an entire American city, and sell the largest American city off to the highest bidder? That, my friends is true surrender.
