On Saturday March 1st, dozens of Obama supporters held a major march and rally. We survived serious attacks and emerged triumphant. But it was not easy.
As we assembled to walk the 5 minutes between two SIMS (essentually virtual towns or neighborhoods) we noticed a tremendous lag. Then came the attacks. Individuals using weapons to blast marchers into the air and send our march off course. I found myself hit several times, eventually disappearing into the ground.
After logging off, I got back and decided to forego the march and teleport straight to our rally. That's when the billboard attacks began.
We faced a stream of "billboards" floating through the air, from Hillary signs to Obama/Osama signs (and of course the photo of Obama in the traditional Somali dress).
Here is a photo of what we had to deal with during the entire rally (not to mention the occasional hecklers).
Yet our rally continued. We talked about the election and how we can help elect Senator Obama. We spread the word about the need to make calls.
In the end, more than 50 people, committed to Barack Obama left the rally excited and determined!
We had survived the griefer attacks! We KNOW that we CAN and WILL elect Barack Obama the next President!
